The Windham varsity summer soccer team’s older group composed of juniors and seniors played its final game of the season against Cheverus at Manchester School in Windham on Tuesday, July 28 and Windham walked off the field with a 5-2 win.

Brady Afthim’s first full season of minor league baseball has accelerated and now that he’s been promoted from Low-A Daytona in the Florida State League to the High-A Dayton Dragons of the Midwest League, he’s expecting even better results.

Windham kindergarten through sixth graders took advantage of an opportunity to work with many of the high school varsity players while learning the foundations of basketball and having fun and making friends at the same time during Windham’s boys’ summer basketball camp. All the proceeds from the camp go right into Windham High’s varsity boys’ basketball program for tournaments, gear and any needed equipment.

The Windham High School boys’ varsity summer basketball team downed Cheverus at Windham on Monday, July 13 and previewed a bright future for the team in the process.

After Windham shutout rival Gorham 4-0 on Monday, July 6, the Windham I girls’ varsity summer soccer team headed to Freeport to play Freeport on Wednesday, July 8. Windham scored twice in the first half and really turned up the intensity in the second half, with Eagle defense holding back Freeport. Windham scored one goal in the second half to win the game, 3-0.

Nellie Feeney has played outfield since she was inT-ball.Growing up, she had to find ways to occupy her time. It wasn't like there were many fly balls coming her way. At the youth levels, the outfield can be a place of inaction, where few balls are hit and a safe haven can be found for
weaker fielders. But at the high school level, the outfield becomes a busy zone where balls fly, instincts are crucial, and a play can decide the biggest games.

The 2025 Windham varsity girls’ lacrosse team made program history when they defeated top-ranked Kennebunk 12-9 in the Class A State Championship to capture the program’s first state title at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland on June 21. They were honored with celebratory plaques and championship rings at Windham High School on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Windham’s varsity girls’ basketball displayed strong defense and a solid offense in their season opener against Thornton Academy at Windham High on Friday, Dec. 5. Windham jumped to a small, but early lead in the first quarter and stayed out in front for the remainder of the game. By the end of the third quarter, WHS was close to 20 points ahead and as the clock ran out, the Eagles were untouchable with a 59-38 win.

Windham High’s varsity 2025 softball team celebrated their second state championship win in three years after the team beat seventh-ranked Edward Little 7-0 at Saint Joseph’s College on Saturday, June 21. The Eagles celebrated with a championship ring ceremony at Pat’s Pizza in Windham on Friday, Nov. 28.
